The Humanities curriculum is designed to:

1. Foster students’ holistic growth in body and mind, instilling sound values and attitudes from an early age so that they become confident, rational, and responsible citizens.
2. Enable students to understand their roles and responsibilities within the family and society, to respect the rule of law and the spirit of law-abidingness, and to contribute to the common good.
3. Develop students’ knowledge of the nation’s history, geography, Chinese culture, and contemporary development, nurturing a strong sense of national identity and belonging, and encouraging them to contribute to both the nation and the wider world.
4. Cultivate awareness of local, national, and global developments, and an understanding of their interconnections.
5. Promote care for and protection of the environment through education for sustainable development, encouraging the practice of green living.

Upon completion of the curriculum, students are expected to:

1. Understand, accept, and appreciate themselves and others, and acquire knowledge related to personal, physical, mental, and community health.
2. Gain foundational knowledge of the relationship between nature, the environment, and humanity, and be able to examine the impact of climate change on human society.
3. Acquire basic knowledge and principles of personal and governmental financial management, and develop an initial understanding of the economic relationship between the nation and Hong Kong.
4. Understand significant national historical events and the distinctive features of Chinese culture, as well as the development of Hong Kong communities, recognizing that Hong Kong is an inseparable part of the nation.
5. Attain a preliminary understanding of the Constitution and the Basic Law, as well as the concept of national security; appreciate the constitutional foundation of the Basic Law, the importance of “One Country, Two Systems,” the role of the Hong Kong National Security Law in safeguarding national security, and the relationship between the Central Government and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region; engage with social affairs, and understand the rights and responsibilities of citizens.
6. Broaden their knowledge of the world and the lifestyles and cultural characteristics of different peoples through diverse learning experiences; develop the ability to search, organize, share, and ethically use information; and acquire skills to protect themselves in the digital environment.
