• Cultivate students' interest in visual arts, and expand their sensory, aesthetic, and artistic experiences centered on vision.
• Develop students' visual perception and communication skills through appreciation and creation.
• In teaching and learning, utilize community resources—including establishing networks with art galleries, museums, art groups, libraries, artists, and schools—to broaden students' horizons and enhance their aesthetic abilities.
• Influence students' character subtly through art, fostering their temperament.

• Cultivate students' creativity, imagination, and ability to appreciate art in visual arts.
• Continuously review and improve the design and teaching of the school's visual arts curriculum.
• Enable students to gain joy, enjoyment, and satisfaction from participating in visual arts activities, thereby fostering a lifelong interest in art.
• Adopt a diversified visual arts curriculum to suit students' interests, abilities, and learning needs, and to enhance the artistic atmosphere of the campus and beautify the campus.
• Encourage and assist students to construct knowledge of visual arts from their life experience and existing knowledge, enabling them to take the initiative in learning this subject.

The curriculum is compiled using teaching materials selected in accordance with the Visual Arts Curriculum Guide issued by the Education Bureau.

Teaching materials for each level are divided into the following seven categories:

1. Art Appreciation

2. Sketching and Appreciation

3. Painting and Appreciation

4. Printmaking and Appreciation

5. Design and Appreciation

6. Sculpture and Appreciation

7. Craft and Appreciation

The percentage of each category will vary slightly depending on the needs of each grade level.
